Course Details:

Course Aims: This intensive course is tailored for candidates intending to work alone on Network Rail’s infrastructure and includes Personal Track Safety re-certification. The primary aim is to ensure candidates are equipped to adhere to industry standards and safety protocols.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work alone on Network Rail’s infrastructure in compliance with industry standards.
  • Understand the responsibilities and protocols associated with being an Individual Working Alone (IWA).
  • Master the selection and planning of protection systems for ensuring personal safety.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate within the railway environment.

Course Content: The training curriculum covers a wide range of topics essential for safe and efficient track work, including:

  • Introduction to PTS Recertification
  • Responsibilities and appointment of an IWA
  • Selection and planning of protection systems
  • Communication protocols
  • Practical scenarios and assessments
  • Feedback sessions for continuous improvement

Certification and Recertification: Upon successful completion of the course, certification will be registered with the NCCA by Railsafe Training. It’s important to note that re-certification is required every two years, involving a two-day classroom-based course and assessment.

Flexible Training Options: We offer the flexibility to conduct training at our state-of-the-art facility in Gateshead or at a location convenient for you, ensuring minimal disruption to your operations.
